Man, this is such an inspiring and reassuring post, Wayne! Incredibly well thought out and presented. I love the visual aids. I get it. I believe it. I'm seeing it happen in real time in my own life and circle. But this refreshes my perspective and gives me the confidence I need to press on with maybe a slightly different tone. Or not. Maybe mix it up. Not everyone responds to desperation. Like instead of always pointing out the horrors of factory farming, or labs, markets etc.,I might try saying how much I love eating a plant based diet and how great I feel about it. Just a thought, not to oversimplify your point. But I tend to feel powerless. This gives me a different perspective. Thank you. I love your blogs! They are so rich.
This is a perfect explanation of solidarity, the force that scares abusers, oligarchs, and the corrupt the most. Together we really can change the world, while those who fear are always trying to divide us.
I always wondered about this and I am very staunch that I think for myself, but do I really? I heard that you are who your friends are which I never believed it really. I had a "whore" friend growing up. She was prob 15 and she was banging a couple guys in their 20s which hes actually the pedophile taking advantage of her. She had already had an STD and was on a BC shot to prevent pregnancy. Me a full on virgin against sex as teenagers not at all religious and while my mom didn't allow dating I agreed that kids shouldn't be dating anyways. Relationships were for adults. I did not want to waste my time on some random who could get me pregnant or worse and ruin my dreams, but I never judged my friend, but we were more acquaintances as mom wouldn't let me do much outside of school. So I wonder if I hung out with her 24/7 and being pressured daily to join in sex or drugs would I falter? Am I attracted to white boys because thats truly my taste or because society and the state I grew up in conditioned me to think white men are the ideal and because I was mostly exposed to that growing up. I think subconsciously we are all a product of our surroundings. Nature VS nurture. While I agree the "lil" people make changes we still need the influence and power of the "big shots." Ultimately money talks and that is why these corporations flourish cuz they think they can shut everyone up and no one will challenge them and all the lawmakers are their bitches.
