My children feel that all life is equal to human life. They protect insects, invertebrates and arachnids at all costs and become furious with those who do not. It's a difficult issue, in the society we live in.... My kids are frequently upset. We are following your mission from Australia. Keep going Wayne, you're our hero!!

Dougy's avatar

Of course not. You live in an echo chamber, which is why you've been brainwashed into thinking committing crimes is ok. Because some convicted felon that happens to be a lawyer said so

Walt Svirsky's avatar

Don’t feed the TROLLS. Block the drooling mammal called “Dougy” and move on people.

You're right of course, but we all need a bit of light relief and Dougy is providing it for free.

He’s just a typical keyboard warrior defending cruelty, and making pathetic 100x over disproven arguments against kindness. Likely because he’s too idiotic to use his brain and can only follow along like a puppet and behave exactly how the money makers want him too. Not worth even responding to but I sometimes like to stomp on bugs …. Only the human kind of course.

Emily's avatar

How is it a joke? Do you want to help the animals be free of abuse and intolerable living situations? How do you want to help the animals?

Kimberlee Sherman's avatar

are you talking to us beagle lovers who want these dogs out of that facility or are you talking to dougy who is delusional?

Carol Crunkhorn's avatar

Hey, if the animal rights movement "has become a joke" it is because of comments like yours and because the industries that exploit animals are fighting back by denigrating and trivialising animal rights and veganism with every statement they make.

First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then.... well, you know the rest. Just be a bit kinder, these people are the good ones, save your venom for the bad guys of the world.

Kimberlee Sherman's avatar

yes we are laughing at dougy as he doesn't care to help these dogs. He's to enlightened by the fact that we trespassed. If trespassing is what needs to be done in order to save the dogs then that's what will be done. yes that's breaking the law like whoppie do.

Carol Crunkhorn's avatar

That comment tells me you are very much anti animal rights. People who care about animals care about all species, even our own sometimes dodgy human species... Most animal rights activists are vegan fta and care about sentient life, whatever form it takes. We need more people like that in the world if we want it to be a kinder and cleaner planet for every'one'. Why are you here on this issue Dougy?

Lynne Murphy's avatar

This is not an intelligent argument Doug, it is one that is dreged up add infinitum by people who can't be bothered to make any changes at all.. Of course it is not possible to live on this planet without inflicting some damage, but it is definitely possible to limit the amount of damage you inflict... There is a saying that there is no such thing as a free lunch, which is very true, but you can limit your damage on the menu..

The "way it used to be"? do you mean kicking down doors, going in at night, trashing labs? Those days have gone, along with the slap on the wrist by kindly judges. Inordinate prison sentences and laws that say an ARA is a terrorist, that's why those days are over.

Even when Direct Action is not successful in rescuing animals, it is successful in bringing awareness to the public, which was always the aim of the ALF et al. Shock tactics don't work so much these days, because being shocked every day at the mess the world is in means people are immune to it.

Are you being racist or self-loathing when you speak of "white grandmas chasing dogs"? That is a trivialisation of animal rescue, something those who exploit animals are very good at doing. How do you know who was a grandma, or a grandad? How do you know who they are? What makes you better than them? What do YOU do (other than criticise)?

Old people (of whom I suspect you are one), young people, all who were willing to get out of their comfort zone and go to Ridglan on Saturday, knowing they might face violence, should be applauded and thanked by those of us who did not. They are NOT the enemy.

Emily's avatar

Carol Crunkhorn's avatar

Don't be silly, you stop the car and help the insect get to the other side... Just because you might accidentally injure or kill something that is too small or hidden to be seen, doesn't mean you should give up on everything.

Do you raise children to be as kind as they possibly can to all sentient life, or do you raise them to be kind only when it is convenient for them to be so?

Intelligent people have a balanced perspective; those who at least try to see the smaller picture, whilst being aware of the bigger one.

Andrea Cherez's avatar

Dougy, Thanks for your concern about bugs. Larger mammals including us humans may unknowingly kill bugs just by moving around, but if we respect all life, we don’t knowingly do harm.

motherharp's avatar

You (at best) are asserting that because a method has not been applied thoroughly and consistently, everywhere all the time, the method is itself suspect or even a failure. I would say that several practitioners of Animal Liberation see Wayne's work as a beginning on one front, that of wide, public acknowledgment, hope and engagement. His efforts make no claim of being the ultimate accomplishment.

Kimberlee Sherman's avatar

can you clarify as to which you support? wayne or dougy? a little confused

You at best are asserting that because Wayne's method has not been applied everywhere all the time, his method is false and is a failure. Most Animal Liberationists, not as you portray them, wd acknowledge his work is just a beginning, succeeding on one important front, wide public acknowledgment, hope and engagement. This is a very large Cosmos we live in, by far surpassing Genesis 9:2 and 9:3. There is no reason to dismiss the change Wayne has made already in this human world and the larger Cosmos.

Carol Crunkhorn's avatar

I have save many insects and animals. From snails and ants to squarrells, both a lizard and a mouse right out of a stray cats mouth. I rescued a snail from a little boy, pulling eyes off a snail, then gave him a lesson on snails lives and all life. He sat there he listened we talked for about a half an hour. And he apologized and then I heard him later telling other kids not to hurt the snails.

"As of April 20, 2026, there have been at least 114 to 115 mass shootings in the United States, according to the Gun Violence Archive, which defines these incidents as a minimum of four victims shot (injured or killed), excluding the shooter." Was this Mangione you mention one of those?

Now, look up the number of animals killed, per day...

I'd say "Kindness is deeply needed" indeed - or at least a little less hatred, if you can manage that...

Totally wrong Pam.

Please get informed about how animal testing for humane drugs is ineffective:

Really, please do some research to bust this myth.

Kimberlee Sherman's avatar

We don't need anymore research for medical purposes, I think that you need to pull your head from your stupid ass and go holistic medicine instead. Use the natural resources on this planet to cure not use animals to test on. Hey, let's use you to research on for human medicine. Put you in a small cage 24/7 year after year, tell us how you feel..We look forward to hearing from you.

Unfortunately it really is. But that is with all the animal trade.

Richard Hughes's avatar

If a typical person agrees that a window can be broken to save a dog from a hot car, then what if it’s four dogs in a van? Or twenty dogs in a school bus? Or 200 dogs across ten school busses. What if the school bus had the windows covered and tools were needed to get in?

The scale and method should not matter. The action is legal simply because we agree it’s the right thing to do.

Not really. The law already handles this. It’s called the necessity defense.

A person can damage property to prevent imminent harm.

Wisconsin also has a good samaritan hot car law that allows breaking into a vehicle to save an animal. The standard is imminent risk and reasonable action, not how many lives are involved.

If you think any of that’s wrong, point to exactly where.

Emily's avatar

Here in Massachusetts, we protect dogs in this State. Our Boston Police would have shut Ridgeland Farm down long ago, with zero confrontation, and would have never treated harmless caring protesters the way Dane County has shown us. Hard to watch from a distance, and to even comprehend. Boils down to corruption, greed, control, power and basically the hate they hold in their heart, that these animals had absolutely nothing to do with.

In Massachusetts, if a family is abusing a child in the home, the authorities show up and remove the child from the abusers. Its called DCF. Maybe you should call DCF to go in and remove the dogs who are being abused in RIDGELAND FARM HOUSE OF ABUSE.

Sandra Z's avatar

Sweetheart, whether it's "new" or not, my comment pertained to the fact that this gentleman said he needed to slaughter the deer "in order to feed his family," which is what I was calling into question, the gentleman being an FBI agent, not a busboy. But perhaps you did not read that far, understandably.

Emily's avatar

we don't need to eat meat to get protein to live. That's a choice. There are many other far more healthy choices to live on that are far healthier for your family than the manufactured and addictive foods created by mankind for all raises money and convenience and dependency at the high expense of animals.

Melanie's avatar

Beautiful Wayne! So proud of your tireless work to help the other animals. Maybe the hunter needed reminding he is also an animal and could be tortured or hurt by other human animals?

Suzanne Strachan's avatar

Amazing work Wayne, you are a true hero and inspiration! It’s sad how many people are believing the

Dane County Sheriff lies. I have an acquaintance who professes to have volunteered for last chance for Animals, and believe in total abolition of vivisection, and yet she believes the Dane County sheriff lies, and thinks that the rescuers were the ones that were violent!

Kimberlee Sherman's avatar

who was violent? Looks to me and to lots of others Dane county Sheriff's are the abusive ones, hurting rescuers the way they did. Hey everyone another stupid person who still can't see the moral right to help these sweet dogs.

Suzanne Strachan's avatar

I agree that the Dane County sheriff station used excessive force, and we’re violent against the peaceful protesters and activist! As I said above, it’s a friend of mine that thought that the protesters and activist were being violent… I tried to explain to her and give links for more information and she would have none of it and even professors to supposedly be an abolitionist against vivisection

Kimberlee Sherman's avatar

I understand thanks for clarifying
