These dogs should be released now to rescue organizations! They deserve freedom to be a dog, not a testing ground for chemicals that kill them. The stupidity is infuriating!! Let them go now. But then who could make $$ off their precious little lives? Blood money at that. These dogs weren’t created by God for us to do experiments on them!!

Judy's avatar

A couple of months ago I saw a picture of a small beagle that was used by Ridglan for experimenting. On I will never forget the dog Never .His body and face. Looked like. He should be dead but they would not stop the torture and the white coat was writing like just another job ! I say again I woke up seeing the expression on the little face over and over

It's like something out of a nightmare. People love dogs so much. The pain is intense knowing how dogs suffer.

These bastards should go to a country where they kill dogs for food. They would be right at home there. Sons-of-bitches. I hate them for doing this. I hate them for not stopping it. Most of all I hate my fellow man for justifying this.

These dogs should absolutely be freed from this horrific facility.

CAT Crazed's avatar

The only one that should be facing legal fees and incarceration is the Rigland owner

CAT Crazed's avatar

If the government doesn't care about dogs-- and clearly they don't-- they should care about people. People are utterly brokenhearted about these dogs. Many, like myself, have been haunted by the plight of these innocent dogs. This situation has actually made me emotionally and physically sick.

And I know I am not alone in my response. I cannot rescue these dogs, as I know how broken and corrupt the legal system is. I know they will descend on me if I participate, as they are always there in a nanosecond to defend the monied interests of animal abusers.

One look through this case shows us that the public overwhelmingly wanted these dogs freed long ago. The state attorney did nothing. Despite copious evidence of egregious animal cruelty, cruelty so horrific it makes me want to divorce myself from humanity.

It would be funny if it wasn't so dreadfully sad. Funny that the FBI and governmental apparatus descend upon kind-hearted people who only want to live at peace with animals and rescue them from unneeded abuse. Yes. Unneeded abuse.

And that's the rub: this is indisputably unneeded. Animal research is an archaic practice that does not yield empirical evidence to help man. That's the lie. The business continues, as RFK recently said, so businesses make obscene profit.

The FBI needs to use tax dollars to do the people's will-- all the people-- not just the rich and powerful. For once I would love to see the government actually lift a finger to help animals, instead of defending those who abuse the living hell out of innocent dogs.

Who wrote this nonsense? These labs and breeders are modern day AUSCHWITZ for animals and RFK JR needs to step in and use his investigative powers at this so-called Farm, and of the States attorney in Madison who appears to be ethically compromised.

CAT Crazed's avatar

Someone needs to tell Ridglan that the tide is turning, rapidly, that he is now a pariah, that Trump shut down a dog laboratory, and that RFK JR HHS and others in the Trump administration recently appeared, denouncing animal testing and labs, stating their intent to end this odious and barbaric industry.

Someone should tell Ridglan Farms that we, too, can ask the powers that be to step in, people in the administration who are very vocal about their hatred for this industry. We all need to petition RFK. Ask him to investigate this dog abuser.

CAT Crazed's avatar

Maybe the press should write imploring RFK to step in and investigate. To put an emergency order in place preventing any sale or destruction or transfer of these dogs.

Good non-political fact based article!

Keep up the fight for the ANIMALS!

I don’t get it. Why would anyone planning a rescue operation use public channels to broadcast the details of the plan? This puts everyone participating at risk and the odds of success at about Zero.

Paul Goldring's avatar

I wish good luck to Wayne and everyone supporting his efforts. I'm surprised at all the negative comments on this page. Wow. Wayne's methods actually seem to be having a positive effect.

Are we still planning on rescuing these abused beagles ? If so, I am most definitely in! Please let me know any updates

For the animals. All the rest is human animals fighting amongst themselves for their petty agendas usually involving greed and power. Thank you Wayne for fighting the good fight for the animals. We know other animals are just like us yet we continue to imprison, torture and abuse them in untold ways and try to justify it to ourselves and eachother. The cruelty of man never ceases to shock and disgust me. As does Rigland spewing propaganda right up there with Goebbels while those poor dogs endure an endless Treblinka in their concentration facilities.

RW's avatar

You're fighting the good fight - for the sake of abused innocent lives.

They are engaged in legalistic-sounding bullying - for the sake of continued money-grubbing on the backs of helpless innocent victims. (OR maybe it's not bullying, but self-defense? Poor guys... Poor victims of big bad Wayne and his army of animal rescuers. 😁)

Rescue - yes. Continued abuse - no.

And go vegan, you meatheads (Sorry, I couldn't resist - strike that last part. 😁)

RW's avatar

PS: Here's an idea: Employ Wayne and his army of rescuers to remove the most obviously hurting dogs from the torture chambers. Invite the media. Could be a good PR campaign for these "Ridgeland Farms"...

No ? Oh well... Guess we go back to plan A... Just plain rescue for rescue's sake...

jprielip's avatar

Just on the news WKOW, they state ridglan has contacted law enforcement that “there is an activist” planning to gather about 100 people to take the dogs.

CAT Crazed's avatar

Ya right. There are 2500 dogs. Do they have a fifty trucks?

The owner of Ridglan is probably worried that they make get in and record yet more ghastly abuse and take the most injured animals this exposing his abuse further.

Not that it would matter. Eye roll. God knows all the evidence in the world will do nothing. The rich and powerful continue to abuse dogs in labs with absolute impunity, while those who expose their behaviors are thrown in jail.

Shame on the Madison States attorney!! He had the power to force release of these dogs after irrefutable evidence showed evidence of dogs having their vocal chords ripped out without anesthesia. That's right. Why? Because the barking annoyed the workers. Not for some greater good or to save man from cancer or Aids, but because they barked.

What great advances has the death and torture of these animals yielded? Too bad Ridglan can't say, because there is none.

Sarah Van Mantgem's avatar

They forgot to mention the several acquittals! Wayne, Paul, Alicia, Alexandra (others I'm sure) - all found NOT GUILTY by a jury of their peers, in three different states involving several trials. In other words, the #RightToRescue, as a LAW that already exists, was upheld, and justice prevailed. These are overt threats, and not at all surprising. The more transparency on all sides the better. The difference is, we are armed with the truth, love, and compassion. They are armed with greed, violence, and lies. That alone doesn't guarantee us a win, but I know which side I'd rather be on ... win or lose. So yes, it's time to pick a side. Those who can, stand with the animals. They're torturing Snoopy for crying out loud.

Lin's avatar

The dogs must be saved from these evil places that are immoral and despicable. The mad scientists make me sick. That which is wrong , can never ever be right. With AI now use that instead of the poor beautiful dogs. Get them out !

Another fake profile. Diane Gandee's Ghost ( could she mean GHANDI?? Facepalm.

You are the same person that writes that hate blog about DXE and Wayne. Each profile name comes from that blog. It's mind blowing. Where do you get the energy?

And you and your 15 other profiles are absolutely linked to Ridglan. I am at work. Will find it and put the link up this weekend.

And he has virtually nothing to feel ashamed of or guilty about. One of your other personalities/ fake profiles me.yionec this already. It's also in your blog. You have such racism it radiates off the page. I think Wayne should have left the comments up. You look deeply disturbed.

You simultaneously attack AR activists for helping dogs in labs, yet in a stunning feat of schizophrenia, attack his father for his involvement in the field.

You bury yourself with every syllable you type. I believe I have proof of your identity. I will post the link to your blog and my theory of your identity. You are none to bright and the clues are everywhere.

One of your other 15 personalities,/ fake profiles already mentioned this. And it's in your blog. Your vitriol and hate radiates off the page like toxic waste.

Few things:

- DxE is a rescue organization. Not a sanctuary. Most of the money we raised for sanctuaries came directly from donors, and it it is in the hundreds of thousands. You can contact, for example, Happy Hen Animal Sanctuary to verify this. But it's also true of other sanctuaries where prominent animals ended up. Ching Sanctuary in Utah, Luvin' Arms in Colorado, etc.

- This is not a DxE rescue, and I am not spending much effort on fundraising because it's a grassroots operation. Notice there's no way to donate. That is a curious way to raise money.

- Re: attention, you *are* right about that. Attention does matter, and it's part of the way to get change.

- The Berkeleyside article in question was filled with falsehoods, or misleading half truths, like the one you post above, because the author literally did not speak to a single source we suggested she speak to. She was close friends with Alice Waters, a prominent restaurant owner who had been protested, and had a very clear bias that led her to post many falsehoods. I posted about some of those falsehoods here:

https://whhsiung.medium.com/factual-errors-in-berkeleysides-reporting-on-our-mayoral-campaign-eaf0e2d52b04

- It's a strange thing to say, "It's about money" when I look around me at my living situation today, versus my living situation 15 years ago. Then, I was a corporate lawyer making $250+k. I lived simply, but I could be generous with friends, think about children/retirement, even max out my 401k. Things are very different now. I have been on food stamps and medicaid for the last few years. I've lived on couches and on living room floors. (That was my life in San Francisco for the last 2 years.) And my net worth is less than zero. If this were "about money," that's a strange way of going about things.

Having said that, I wish you the absolute best. Are you well in life? Are you happy? Fulfilled? I will pray for you, as I pray for all sentient beings, and hope that you find orientation in kindness and truth.

Wayne Hsiung's avatar

Separately, if there's going to be an astroturfing campaign to scare people, it's best not to do it in such a coordinated way. The surge of people bringing insults, mockery, and wild allegations is just going to cause folks to see (rightfully) that your campaign is manufactured. I left this one comment up, however, is it was polite and is asking a legitimate question. Best to do that, rather than bring an army of astroturfed comments. (The downside is that when you ask reasonable questions, there are reasonable answers. C'est la vie!)

CAT Crazed's avatar

I wish I was in the position to rescue these dogs. I fantasize daily about rescuing all of them. But I have a cat sanctuary can't take a chance that my cats would be homeless. I highly, highly, highly doubt that would happen, as the Trump administration has come out against these facilities, but I simply can't chance the welfare of my fur babies even if it's a remote chance of incarceration, and I believe it's remote.

CAT Crazed's avatar

There are people in this thread, or were, who were literally impersonating Are activists. Using names of people most people know. I originally read messages thinking AR activists were attacking me.

CAT Crazed's avatar

You have a hell of a lot of nerve, Lucia Fatone. There are numerous costs associated with this mission. It is a rescue mission, NOT an animal sanctuary. Hence they do not pay to feed or house them.

You are none too bright. You cannot even discern between an animal sanctuary which houses and feeds animals, and an animal.rescue group, with costs that typically do not include feeding cattle.

This guy has a well.kniwn blog and he is the one with financial interests tied to protecting the abuse of animals.
