I'm cheating, but I'm slammed
Trial has been all-consuming. But no matter what happens, I feel good about the result.
Trial has been tough, folks. We’ve had a number of bad and probably unconstitutional rulings, including the judge cutting off my opening statement earlier today. And for that reason, I’m not going to write anything too significant.
What I will say is this: no matter what happens at trial, I am so grateful to all the folks who have come out, and so optimistic about the prospects for the animal rights movement. While there has been intense animosity and hate, there have also been some incredibly touching moments. Those moments add to the overwhelming evidence that the animal rights movement is pushing forward on the right path.
More later. Thanks to all of you for reading this blog. If I get through tomorrow, I’ll write more this weekend.
Stay strong. Incredible how the judge and prosecution are trying to protect the jurors from having to reflect on the meaning and quality of the life at the center of all of this -- Rain's life. Their maneuvers are a reaction to the power of the animal liberation argument, and demonstrate what a threat it poses to humanity's exploitation of our fellow creatures.
If found guilty, can you file a motion for another hearing based upon the unconstitutional ruling of not even being able to complete your opening statement?!? What the heck ?!
