thanks for this writing and linking it so well to people showing up at the trial and defending free speech and open rescue.
for publicity around the trial, i'm wondering if it would make sense to contact jane velez-mitchel's "unchained?" there's also "their turn" though they may be only NYC based. i'll keep brainstorming.
Wayne, this is an excellent blog. You make many great points, and I couldn't agree with you more. I appreciate it this especially at the moment because I'm going to visit family in Michigan and while my mom is a vegan, most other folks there that I know are not. I'm always stressing out about talking about it. I do lots of Facebook truth telling about animal cruelty in factory farms and other settings, and get incredibly few responses, but even one is a something. The point is, I needed some inspiration and pointers about talking because I know I'm going to be in a situation where I'll have an opportunity to share the truth. BTW, I loved that video if you talking to the teenage boys at the mall. Beautifully done! As a former 9th grade science teacher, I know just how tough that crowd is, and you handled them like a pro. Seriously!! I have a question. Where can I find "proof" of where Smithfield promised to discontinue using gestation crates. Is that in writing somewhere? Not that I disbelieve you at all, that's not the point. I'd just like to see what they said and when they said it. Thanks! And have fun in Florida.
Thank you, Wayne. Your post is vital and personally timely. Just today I reached an anti-BS moment of resolve, realizing that the place to begin shining the bright light of reality is in my own life and relationships. Toxic, chronic denial is ubiquitous, suffocating, deadly. Thank you for your call for honesty-and here’s to cutting through the crap!
Being authentic and sharing the truth with others while demonstrating care for them - you're the master at this! No wonder those kids responded so well and listened. You showed respect for their thoughts and ideas.
Wayne, I appreciate your hard work and courage on behalf on farm animals.

Jane is going to cover it!

Aw, thanks Sarah! The kids were easy. They just needed a little nudge to find their compassion. :)
Thank you so much Wayne for all that you do for farm animals. Wishing you all the best with your upcoming trial in September.

(From Wayne's team) Sorry, the July 29th Friday Night Hangout event has been canceled, but we will have an event next week.
