A one-sentence response to all the recent news on animal rights
A shallow dive is better than no dive at all. Plus, Lisa's rescheduled funeral.
I started this blog to dive deep. The shallowness of the modern media, and especially social media, is a major obstacle in making progress on the problems facing our nation and planet. But none of us has time to dive deep into everything. It’s still valuable to sometimes offer your gut reactions on various news events, if only because it allows others to offer feedback and help you refine your thinking in the future. So here are __ one-sentence responses to recent news on animal rights.
Xenotransplantation from pigs. Very creepy, and this shows us why we need to fight for animal rights and not just a plant-based diet.
Anthony Fauci and dog experiments. Important work and glad someone is doing it, but I’m also glad it’s not me/DxE.
McDonald’s plant-based burger is here. It’s fascinating because of how uneventful it seems.
Some horse competitions dropped from the Olympics. Love it, but surprised that it had happened because the “abuse” video footage is pretty tame, by animal rights standards.
Separately, so many of you have sent love and condolences after Lisa passed. We had planned the funeral for Oct 24, but rain messed things up. So we’re having it this Saturday at 1:30 pm instead. Here’s the event page.
For those who can’t attend, or who are worried about COVID, it’s going to be entirely outdoors. And we are also going to put it on Facebook Live.
