You would think the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) would be concerned about dogs being gassed to death with chemical weapons banned under international law, given its responsibility to enforce animal welfare laws.
Btw, calling and emailing all 3 of my reps was so easy and took less than 10 minutes. Mine are all dems and good ones, so not sure how much good this did. But it made me feel like I did something. subject: sadism for profit. Hello, I hope you are well, unlike the sentient dogs in cages at Marshall BioResources in New York — the largest research-dog breeder in the U.S., with about 16,000 dogs. The USDA just failed to respond to a letter from two New York Representatives about it. As a concerned voter, I want to know if my Senator will push the USDA to help the dogs at Marshall. What is your position, Senator: Do ends justifying means? I stand strong: Ends do not justify means for whatever alleged research is being conducted on these docile animals, who are exploited because they can't give consent, because they don't have a prefrontal cortex like ours, because they don't have opposable thumbs. It's not a level playing field, which makes this "research" sadistic. Please answer my questions in your response. Thank you.
