The round hay bales won't burn, but they probably can be rolled into the trench, which is filled with manure sewage and a health hazard. A ramp could help all get across the moat to the bales barricade safely. There are many brands of strong but lightweight portable aluminum ramps on amazon. Lengths and widths vary (typical length is 7.5'). Also available at local supply stores throughout Dane County. Commonly used for loading vehicles onto the bed of a pickup truck or trailer.
