Moby Wants to Talk to YOU About Joining the Ridglan Rescue (Zoom Event)
.Plus, more cover-ups of abuse by the authorities
We announced on Saturday that we’re heading back to Ridglan Farms to rescue all the dogs. And the response has been overwhelming. Over 36,000 signed up to support the rescue effort. And 1,300 have committed to risking arrest to get every last one of the dogs at Ridglan Farms out of a cage.
This is by far the biggest animal rights event I have seen in my 25 years as an activist. It may well be one of the biggest in animal rights history.
And, now, one of the legendary figures in animal rights, the electronic music pioneer Moby, will be joining us to rally animal lovers to rescue the dogs. Moby’s message to the rescuers is simple: “You are on the right side of history.”
RSVP here to join the Zoom w/ Moby on Saturday at 1 pm ET—and to learn how you can get involved in the rescue effort!
Moby’s effort to rally us comes at a critical moment. The initial wave of outrage over the authorities’ arrests of rescuers, and seizure of the #Ridglan8, is beginning to die down. The authorities hope that, if they can wait things out, the public will forget about the pups.
Part of this strategy is to confuse and delay. The Dane County District Attorney, Ismael Ozanne, has been falsely stating that he “has not yet received a referral” to prosecute Ridglan for criminal abuse. This is a lie. We recently obtained (through freedom of information requests) a letter to Ozanne from the state Department of Agriculture referring Ridglan for criminal charges. The letter is titled, “Request for Prosecution of Ridglan Farms,” and it’s dated October 2025.
At the same time, the Dane County Sheriff has condemned “misinformation” about Ridglan on the internet and claimed that “teaching” and “research” facilities are exempt from Wisconsin animal cruelty laws. This, too, is a lie. Ridglan is not a teaching or research facility, and the nation’s leading experts in animal welfare law universally agree that it is obligated to comply with state animal cruelty laws. It is the Sheriff’s office, and not animal advocates, who are spreading misinformation.
This is just par for the course. For 30 years, the government’s own internal watchdogs have concluded that enforcement of animal welfare laws is “basically meaningless.” The supposed protections that exist for animals are, in reality, a state-sponsored cover-up of corporations who profit from abuse.
But as I recently posted on X, this can all seem very abstract until you look at one of the dogs and imagine what she’s going through after 7 years in a cage. When I posted a video of one of these pups this week, spinning endlessly in a 2’ x 4’ metal enclosure, more than 1 million people joined us in watching and making that empathic leap.
And after seeing her desperation, they will never be the same.
I do not want to go back to Ridglan. I am a full-time seminarian. I am a husband who should be with my wife, as she faces her own trials. I am a dog-dad whose little guy is happiest when I’m walking him, playing with him, and hugging him every day. But I have seen a glimpse of what that little pup was going through. And I’ll do everything I can to free her from that cage.
I know you will, too. And we’ll have millions of people—including Moby—supporting us in that effort.
Other Updates
The Facebook event page for the rescue effort on April 19 is up! Note that this is a change of date, as we found that more people could participate if we pushed it back a week. While we hope to promote the rescue on social media, everyone still has to sign up to receive some basic nonviolence training at savethedogs.io. Let me repeat: if you want to directly join the rescue, you must sign up at savethedogs.io.
Three of the leaders of the last rescue effort—Dean Wyrzykowski, Abie Brauner, and Aidan Cook—will be speaking at an event in San Francisco tonight (Thursday) at 7 pm PT. If you’re in the Bay, don’t miss this, as they’ll share not only gripping stories from the rescue but also the strategy behind open rescue.
There is a chance I’ll be swinging through Chicago and Milwaukee this weekend to rally activists for the rescue on April 19. If you’re interested in helping to organize an event, or have a venue that can hold a few dozen people, let me know!

I’m not entirely sure where to post this-I’m looking to travel across the country to assist with the efforts of 4/19. I’m looking for any information regarding lodging, meetups with other activists and ride shares etc. please advise!
Go Moby! It’s nice to see famous folk spreading the word. As always, thank you, Wayne.
