Can you please share your mailing address, and what kinds of things you’re allowed to receive? Books? Pens & paper? Vegan snacks? Chewing gum? Essential oils that can help you heal the infected wound and help boost your immune system? A blanket & pillow? A towel? A yoga mat? Cigarettes you can use to barter with other inmates?
Praying for your appeal process to move forward as expeditiously as possible.
Please let us know how we can make your life a little easier. Are you allowed visitors?
(From Wayne's team) Thanks for asking, Kaci! You can write letters to Wayne while he is in the Sonoma County jail. Unfortunately, he not allowed to receive packages. Find details at DxE.io/writetowayne. Wayne is allowed to have visitors, but we ask that people don't visit in order to reserve that time for his family to visit him.
Must write on plain (or lined), white paper. Same goes for envelope. Your name and return address must be included. All mail will be read by jail staff. Avoid any plotting or threatening comments. His main supporters have told us not to send him anything other than letters.
You're an alchemist, Wayne. You will transmute base metal into gold and suffering into consciousness for our planet to move away from what has been rightfully described as the worst crime in the human history.
Wayne, we are aware of the injustices you and too many of our fellow beings face. I hope that your infection is cleared, that you will soon see Oliver, Priya & Beasley and your family soon, that the appeal will come speedily. "Hi" to James & Robin. Love to you. We need you. Thank you for being courageous and always facing the light.
I too shed tears partly of pain (for the injustice and suffering you are enduring and sharing with billions of human and non-human living beings, even in the most hidden corners of the world) and partly of joy for the resilience, the strength, humanity and courage that I find in you and which are concrete hope for a better world. Love and support from Italy.
This is heartbreaking. I think of you often, especially when spending time with my dogs, a luxury I know I cannot take for granted because it can all be taken away all so suddenly and all so unjustly. Take care and know that people love you.
Wayne you are a true hero for the animals and an example for us all. Sometimes we will be called upon and have our beliefs tested by those that would silence us and try to prevent us from providing aid to suffering animals.
Prison is forming your consciousness and allowing you to order your thoughts. Some lightweights get Yaddo, you get to write a manifesto in jail. It will be immense.
Dear Wayne, You are an inspiration. Your suffering and brilliant writing alternately make me cry and then wryly laugh, the latter as you speak of the dear fruit flies and their refusal of the rotten apple. Your experiences and writings will not be in vain. You are helping to change the course of history. Sending love and good thoughts to you , Oliver and all animals. 💙🙏
Reading this first fills me with so much anger! How can they justify putting you in isolation like that? As if you were a murderer. The cruelty is always the point … knowing you’re not totally, physically alone anymore makes me feel a little better although I wish you had someone you could at least talk with. Then I start thinking about the Dalai Lama and all he has been through and how readily he, too, laughs at life’s oddities. So now, I picture you like a younger Gyalwa Rinpoche finding comfort and even joy in all the absurdity. 🤗
I think of you every day and write to my one senator who might listen (Sherrod Brown). I pray for a lenient judge and that you will be released with time served at your sentencing. I am so sorry and ashamed that my country has done this to you; has permitted such a system of injustice. May love sustain you.
What a brilliant and beautiful rare soul you are. I do not have the words to properly convey my admiration, respect, and gratitude for you and what I learn from your example. May God strengthen, elevate and honor you, and empower you to achieve and surpass your greatest dreams for change. Thank you for your inspirational and transformative writing, and love to you and your loved ones.
Reading your words of love and longing brings tears to my eyes. Your courage and vulnerability are amazing. I’ve only just begun following your story. Sending wishes and prayers that justice will prevail and that you and Oliver will be reunited soon. Love from SoCal ❤️
Please keep us posted if there’s anything we can do to expedite the appeal- letters to write, on your behalf, etc. Know how many people care and are watch in dismay, as this great unjustice unfolds.
(From Wayne's team) Wayne is in the Sonoma County jail, but he has not been sentenced yet. His sentencing hearing is on November 30th. He could get up to 3.5 years in jail for animal rescue. There will be an appeal. Please join and/or spread the word about court support. Find details at DxE.io/sentencing.
