This is great! We need people with platforms that have a heart, soul and humanity to help save these voiceless innocent souls and all the innocent souls that are horrifically torture for pleasure. I wish I could be there for the rescue, all I can do to help is donate and pray. Thank you for all you sacrifice for these souls 🙏💝
Hey, I’m vegan (30 years) and this kind of purist mentality is so destructive, divisive and counter-intuitive. Would you rather someone who eats animals helps these dogs or one less person to get them the hell out? Maybe the person who consumes animals connects the dots while doing this rescue. It takes all kinds of people who empathize, show compassion and wear their hearts on their sleeves to create change.
As for what I'd rather, I'd rather we stop being lazy and picking at low hanging fruit so we can get back to long term solutions. Didn't Wayne and dXe (or is it zOe now?) make a roadmap for animal liberation? Tf is this portion?
Along with our human ‘intelligence’ comes a proportionate reprehensible potential for evil behavior, e.g. malice for malice’s sake. [It’s worth noting how unusually nice people with, for example, Down Syndrome are — all to their credit, of course — when compared to the average and high(er) IQ population.]
With our four-legged friends, however, there definitely is a beautiful absence of that undesirable distinctly human trait. While animals can react violently, it is typically due to reactive distrust/dislike or necessity/sustenance. But leave it to us humans, with our greater ‘thinking’ capacity, to commit a spiteful act, even if only because we can.
Most of the immense violence committed by humankind is against largely defenseless animals — mostly for food but also trophy hunting, perceived medicinal uses, and gratuitous body wear — their blood literally shed and bodies eaten, or wasted, in mind-boggling quantity by our predator and omnivore species.
Also, as strange as it sounds, when I do eat meat (however relatively little) I distract my thoughts from what I’m actually eating — indeed once living, moving, bloody animal flesh — which, for me at least, is one small step below cannibalism. And maybe animal growing/slaughtering/eating is as bad for one's spirit as it can be for one's body, not to mention the natural environment.
It even leaves me (as a fan of Christ) wondering whether the metaphorical forbidden fruit of Eden eaten by Adam and Eve was actually God’s four-legged creation. I'm not a vegetarian (let alone a vegan), but I can still see that act really angering the Almighty — a lot more than the couple’s eating non-sentient, non-living, non-bloody fruit.
… During my youth, I spent many commercial fishing seasons on my (now deceased) father's boat, and often enough the deck would be covered by dead fish sliding around in a pool of their own thick blood-reddened slime. I now wonder whether such sights, and cleaning them from his boat a few hours later, may have had some negative psychological, if not also spiritual, effect on him (or similarly on other people tasked with the slaughter of food animals/creatures)?
This is fantastic. Jen Welch and Angie Sullivan are power houses and their voices are heard. I love this. Wayne you are incredible. I am so glad we have you taking the lead on this. You know, the time has come where we simply cannot allow this shit to happen anymore to the innocent and vulnerable. Whatever it takes! ✊🐾💕
Powerhouses that no one outside of their algorithm knows. Wayne said they interviewed Barack, Kamala, and Rahm and somehow DOESN'T think they're out of touch with the hoi polloi.
When it comes to the animals, I don't give a fuck about politics. What's important here is that their podcast has many listeners, many of whom probably love dogs. Those people may join the rescue effort and help us save all of the dogs. That's what's important, not "liberal bs" or any kind of bs.
You not giving a fuck about politics is why you have no ground to stand on. You have no base to back the demands you make and thusly should sit the fuck down. The podcast has an audience of you: white women that are ashamed of themselves and their cushy lifestyles so they try don the mask of the ultra liberal but ultimately end up looking out of touch.
Find something better to do with your time, everyone. Hit a shelter and adopt an animal before PETA gets them and kills them like they do every year without a word from
With our four-legged friends, there definitely is a beautiful absence of undesirable distinctly human traits. While animals, including dogs and cats, can react violently, it is typically due to reactive distrust/dislike or necessity/sustenance. But leave it to us humans, with our higher capacity for ‘intelligence’, to commit a spiteful act, even if only because we can.
I came across a newspaper editor’s column about courthouse protesters in Sarnia, Ontario, demanding justice in 2014 for a cat that had been cruelly shot in the head 17 times with a pellet gun, destroying an eye. Within her piece, the editor rather recklessly declared: “Hey crazy people, it’s [just] a cat.” The court judge might’ve also perceived it so, as the charges against the two adult-male perpetrators were dropped.
In a follow-up column, the editor expressed surprise at having then received some very angry responses, including a few implied (hollow) threats, from cat lovers and animal rights activists. Apparently, she couldn’t relate to the intensely heartfelt motivation behind the public outrage, regardless of it being directed at such senseless cruelty to an innocent animal; therefore, the demonstrators were somehow misguided.
The same editor had also written about how disturbed she was by an opinion poll’s results revealing that more than a third of surveyed adults “would, under some circumstances, choose to save the life of their dog over the life of a human being, if they could save only one.”
She was astonished and dismayed by this, regardless of the hypothetical other person being a complete stranger. I, on the other hand, was/am surprised the percentage wasn’t much higher! Of course, I wrote to her that, to me at least, it makes perfect sense: Especially with their pets’ non-humanly innocence, how could the owners not put their beloved animal’s life first?
That editor's callous attitude might help explain why the city (i.e. Surrey, B.C.) neighboring mine, as but one shamefully serious example, allowed/s an estimated 36,000 feral/stray/homeless cats to fester, very many of which suffer severe malnourishment, debilitating injury, illness and/or infection. That number was about six years ago. I was informed four years later by the local cat charity that, if anything, their “numbers would have increased, not decreased” since then.
Their trap/neuter/release program is/was the only charity to which I’ve ever donated, in no small part because of the plentiful human callousness towards the plight of those cats and the countless others elsewhere. Thus, I was greatly saddened when told by the local non-profit charity via email that, “Our TNR program is not operating. There are no volunteers….”
The city's municipal government as well as too many uncaring residents have done little or nothing to help with the non-profit cat charity. And then leave it to classically cruel human hypocrisy to despise and even shoot or poison those same suffering cats for naturally feeding on smaller prey while municipal governments and many area residents largely permit the feral cat populations to explode — along with the resultant feline suffering within!
In 2024, while campaigning to become the next president, then-VP Kamala Harris relied too much on motivating enough voters to her side by promising to ‘protect democracy’ and constitutionally enshrine abortion rights nationwide. This, while there was/is a very large and likely still growing electorate who, due to their formidable unaffordability difficulties, don’t have the luxury to make democracy and/or abortion their primary vote-determining concern(s). That many people are financially struggling that much.
Relatively few Democrats are politically-practicing social AND fiscal progressives, with the ‘fiscal’ ensuring that everyone has access to the basic necessities of life. Other than perhaps Barack Obama, it's doubtful any presidential contender or president — including and especially Donald Trump — has genuinely, publicly realized that Americans collectively want and deserve better than just either of the usual callous conservative or neo/faux liberal establishment candidate thus very corporate friendly president in the White House (something I believe they very likely will never get).
One almost gets the impression that the Republican and Democratic parties are still unaware of the non-corporately-commissioned polls showing that a majority of Americans favor the governmental implementation of some public programs, especially universal health care.
One would think the Democrats in particular would finally support thus implement a universal healthcare plan, so why is the DNC refusing to allow it — even if only by disallowing the fiscally progressive Senator Bernie Sanders to run as its presidential nominee, however many Democrat-voters want him? That is, other than the DNC being afraid of crossing the corporate lobbyists, especially those hired to represent the healthcare industry’s unlimited-profit interests, who make some of the largest donations to the party election coffers.
That, and much more, may be why a growing number of people find/found New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani, unlike his political competition, ideologically and politically refreshing. And, of course, for which he'll continue experiencing great animosity and resistance from a formidable American system based basically on insatiable superfluous-profit/-wealth greed.
I don't know if I can actually be there for the next rescue. I'm willing to take a female beagle into my home. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to end this terrible behavior.
Animals (other than us humans) don't hate. They don't hate you because of your religion. They don't hate you because of your politics. They don't hate you because of your economic class. They don't hate you because of your race. They don't hate you because of your gender. They don't hate you because of your IQ or your age. Only humans are exceptional in this regard and why we boastful humans regard them as "less than."
Dave Portnoy...these big nosed ladies...would any of these white people care about your latest mission if it were cows? Pigs? Chickens? Fish? You, Wayne, are the sell out.
Only small people attack others based on their appearance. It’s trite, deflective and cruel. It’s says EVERYTHING about you and nothing about others. Take this unkind garbage out of here.

Don't worry, there are many carnists that will lend a hand to help dogs.

If you've truly been vegan for 30 years you should know better. How many dog lovers have you coaxed into veganism after 3 decades? Be for real.

Well a million followers isn’t too shabby. Everything helps.
No, it doesn't. That's the mindset that got you here.

Have a heart ❤️ as endless animals still suffering
Keep it up, Wayne! This is such big news! 🤎
Also love love love their episode title: "Pull Your D*ck Out Of The Beehive" 😻
Seems like more liberal bs to me. Liberals and Conservatives agree on Israel and a lack of concern for animals...except dogs of course.

It's not. It's more of the same.
awesome. well explained, with calm demeanour.
Dog be with you!
