Thank you for writing this article, it was very illuminating. I will be writing to ask for Roger Hallum’s release, thank you for sharing that information as well.

The distinction between virtue and impact—between doing the right thing because it’s right, not because it’s likely to “work”—feels like the missing soul in so many modern movements. Especially now, when burnout is real and hope feels fragile, it’s galvanizing to be reminded that courage isn’t about the odds. It’s about alignment with something sacred, even if it costs you everything.

Thanks Wayne.

Your writings are always thought-provoking( I mean that as a compliment).

I also saw your interview on the AAC YouTube presentation earlier this week, it was excellent.

I also became a supporter of AAC, they are an amazing resource for Animal Activists!

There are so few positive outcomes visible now in the animal protection movement that I guess the easiest thing to do is to fall back on virtue -- i.e., I will be virtuous in my choice of what to buy and what to eat, even while knowing that, as just one individual, my choices will basically have no positive outcome for animals or in influencing others. Wayne, your article isn't as pessimistic as this, but that is what I got out of it. Is that what you are saying?

Doesn't focusing on outcomes also imply aspiring for personal achievement and recognition? Virtuous is more selfless. We hold martyrs in high esteem.

It sounds like congratulations are in order or am I just late to the party? 🙂
